Increase design flexibility for semiconductor manufacturing equipment
Make use of slim relays and door interlock switches to create space inside equipment

Repeated design updates mean space inside equipment is at a premium
To make the most of limited cleanroom space at semiconductor manufacturing facilities, the equipment used must be as compact and multifunctional as possible.
However, it is extremely difficult to make improvements to existing equipment that was already designed for this purpose. There is typically no more space left inside the equipment, and less freedom to adjust the design.
Some issues can be resolved by completely redesigning this equipment from scratch. This method requires a substantial amount of development time, effort, and cost.
This is a common challenge that equipment design engineers face when creating semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
Slimline relays and door interlock switches allow for more flexibility in design
To enhance design flexibility and enable both miniaturization and multi-functionality, there are 2 potential approaches: rearranging internal components to make the most effective use of space, or replacing existing components with more compact alternatives. The latter approach is seen as relatively simple to implement.
IDEC supports this method with products that can meet the high expectations of design engineers. We offer the RV8H interface relay, with a width of just 6mm, and the HS6E safety interlock switch (with solenoid) for doors.
The RV8H has a 6A contact rating, and is designed for high-density relay mounting. Replacing conventional relays with the slimline RV8H could reduce the amount of installation space by close to half (depending on the size of the existing devices).

Compact products with functionality for a variety of industrial applications
IDEC's ranges of compact relays and safety interlock switches for doors have the variety to meet a wide range of customer needs.
Our relay lineup also includes the RJ series of slim power relays, the RF1V and RF2 series of force-guided relays that meet international safety standards, and the HS7A-DMC non-contact safety interlock switch for doors.
