HT4P Safety Commander: List of compatible tablets (examples)
The compatible tablets listed on this page are representative examples of models for which installation, USB communication and USB charging with the HT4P have been confirmed in our testing environment.
The list includes tablets that are no longer on sale (discontinued). Please use them as a point of reference when considering newer models and similar devices.
Newer models, or other models in the same series, may be compatible if they have the same external dimensions, interface, operating system specifications, etc. However, the operating conditions may differ due to tablet OS upgrades or model changes.
(We have not confirmed individual operation of newer tablet models or other models in the same series.)
IDEC will continue to check major tablet brands/models for compatibility with the HT4P, and update this list accordingly based on the results. Please note that we cannot guarantee to check a new tablet's operation and compatibility immediately upon its release.
For tablets that are not listed, IDEC can:
provide a HT4P device for users to test that installation, USB connectivity and charging are possible, or
borrow the tablet from the user and carry out in-house tests using the HT4P.
Please contact us for more details, or for any other inquiries.
* The results listed on this page are based on in-house testing under specific conditions, and do not guarantee operation in all environments. Please evaluate the product in your use environment before implementing it.
Notes for installation conditions:
Tablets other than those mentioned in the below list can be mounted, such as those with:
Screen size: 10 to 13 inches (approx.),
Tablet diagonal length: 290 to 380 mm (270 mm~ at reduced size),
Tablet thickness: ~9mm (standard) ~23mm (with optional parts).
However, depending on the tablet, the power button, volume buttons, and USB port on the tablet may interfere with the mounting hooks or case on the product. If so, change the position of the hooks or spacers so that buttons and USB ports do not interfere with them.
Other notes:
1. Static IP address settings
Some tablets may not have a static IP address setting. When using a tablet without this setting, please use the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to secure an IP address for the device. For more information on your tablet's functions and settings, please contact the manufacturer directly.
2. USB communication and power supply
This product complies with the USB standard and the USB-PD standard. However, depending on the specifications and behavior of the connected tablet or other connected devices, the power supply and communication functions, including USB-LAN conversion, may not activate correctly. One particular issue is that the USB standard does not clearly define response times for the initial USB-PD power negotiation or the USB device recognition that occurs when the tablet starts up. As such, operation may vary between devices. Please make sure to confirm the compatibility of this product with any tablets or peripheral devices you use with it. Please note that IDEC cannot be held responsible for any charging or communication issues resulting from incompatibilities between this product and a specific tablet or peripheral device.
If communication is not activated correctly, try one of the following methods:
1) Unplug the USB cable connected to both this product and the tablet, and then plug it back in.
2) With the tablet plugged into the power supply, turn the power off and then back on.
3. Notes on remaining battery life
If you attempt to use a tablet with no remaining battery life, it may not charge (depending on the model). In this case, please at least partially charge the tablet before connecting it to this product. Please note that this issue occurs as a result of the tablet's power control specifications, and is not an issue with our product.
