On June 22, 2026, the IDEC Group held a discussion session with its outside director as part of its ongoing efforts to build an organization where diverse talent can thrive. The session focused on promoting women's empowerment in the workplace and 34 managers attended from across the Group in Japan. Participants engaged in a knowledge-sharing session led by the outside director, followed by group discussions.

The session began with a presentation by a Senior Executive Officer on the current status of and challenges surrounding women's empowerment within the IDEC Group. The outside director shared insights on the relationship between diversity and corporate growth, drawing on her own professional experience. She emphasized that the advancement of women is essential to the sustainable development of both companies and society and highlighted how creating an environment in which diverse talent can succeed drives innovation and business growth. She also noted that organizations of the future increasingly require a broad range of capabilities, including empathy and other interpersonal strengths.

During the group discussions, participants exchanged views on two themes: “Challenges facing women in achieving career advancement and leadership positions within our company” and “Effective initiatives that can be implemented across the company and within individual departments.” A variety of issues were raised, including the lack of role models, opportunities for career development, and balancing work responsibilities with life events. The discussions provided an opportunity to consider challenges and potential solutions from multiple perspectives.

In the Q&A session, the outside director stressed the importance of encouraging open dialogue and incorporating diverse viewpoints when addressing organizational issues. She also emphasized the need to tailor initiatives to the specific characteristics of different functions and workplaces. In addition, she shared the view that cross-functional experience through job rotation and opportunities to expand professional networks can contribute significantly to the growth and success of diverse talents.

Participants commented that the session helped them recognize unconscious assumptions and biases regarding women in the workplace, reaffirmed the importance of planned job rotations, and highlighted the value of ongoing dialogue with employees about their career aspirations and willingness to pursue advancement opportunities. The discussion session provided valuable insights not only into women's empowerment but also into building an organization that embraces diversity and inclusion more broadly.

The IDEC Group is committed to fostering a workplace where employees of all backgrounds—regardless of gender, age, nationality, or other attributes—can fully realize their potential. Going forward, we will continue to promote initiatives that respect diverse perspectives and support the growth and success of every employee.
