IDEC Group Launches “DE&I Month”
The IDEC Group designates June each year as “DE&I (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) Month.” Through this initiative, we are committed to fostering a workplace environment in which individuals with diverse backgrounds and perspectives respect one another and where everyone can fully demonstrate their individuality and capabilities.
This year, we are implementing a series of participatory and experiential programs centered on four key themes: “LGBTQ+,” “Women’s Empowerment,” “Persons with Disabilities,” and “Nationality and Racial Diversity.” Through these initiatives, we aim to enhance employees’ understanding of DE&I and to advance the realization of “One IDEC.”
Overview of Initiatives
■ LGBTQ+
1. Distribution of video content featuring the voices and experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals
2. Recruitment of endorsements for the DE&I commitment and visualization of the number of supporters
“I respect each individual’s uniqueness and values and support a workplace where everyone can work as their authentic selves.”
3. Optional change of Outlook icons to the official DE&I logo (limited to DE&I Month)
■ Women’s Empowerment
A discussion session will be held at the headquarters under the theme of “Women’s Empowerment at IDEC,” involving an outside director and employees at the department head level. Through dialogue from a management perspective, this initiative aims to identify key challenges and solutions and link them to future measures.
■ People with Disabilities
A simulated experience workshop focusing on hearing impairment will be conducted at the headquarters. Participants will engage in activities such as lip-reading and sign language, gaining firsthand insight into challenges encountered in daily life and considering appropriate support and inclusive measures.
■ Nationality and Racial Diversity
A workshop on creating traditional Ukrainian motanka dolls will be led by an employee from Ukraine at the headquarters. Through this activity, participants will deepen their understanding of different culture and tradition.
