Women’s Leadership Session: Insights from an Outside Director of IDEC Group

On March 26, the IDEC Group held a Women’s Leadership Session for female employees at the leadership level (leaders and equivalent grades or above) as part of its ongoing efforts to build an inclusive organization where diverse talent can thrive.
During the session, IDEC’s female outside director took the stage to share her career journey, insights she gained along the way, and the importance of promoting the advancement of women across the entire IDEC Group. Through candid, experience-based messages and dialogue with the outside director and colleagues from other departments, participants were able to broaden their perspectives, articulate challenges they face in their daily work, and connect these reflections to their own personal and professional growth.
In the keynote address, topics included the importance of exercising leadership while staying true to oneself, as well as the need for organizational support—beyond individual effort alone—to enable people from diverse backgrounds and positions to succeed. The speaker also emphasized the critical role of senior management and colleagues in acting as “allies,” expanding understanding and taking action to support the advancement of women.
In the latter half of the session, participants took part in group discussions, sharing their strengths, challenges, and the barriers they encounter while demonstrating leadership. Through dialogue that crossed departmental and location boundaries, participants were able to put into words the concerns they experience in their daily work, while gaining new insights from the experiences and perspectives of others. The ideas shared also helped to further visualize organizational challenges and served as a catalyst for considering future actions.
The IDEC Group is committed to fostering an organization in which individuals with diverse backgrounds—regardless of gender—can fully utilize their abilities and demonstrate leadership at every stage of their careers. Going forward, the Group will continue to strengthen opportunities for employee awareness and learning, as well as support for career development.
