Future Ocean Project – Coastal Cleanup Activities in Taiwan

The IDEC Group is committed to building a sustainable society by actively promoting initiatives tailored to the characteristics of each region where we operate. As part of these efforts, two of our sites in Taiwan conducted coastal cleanup activities, providing an opportunity to raise awareness about marine environmental conservation.

On October 18, approximately 30 employees and their family members participated in a cleanup activity at Cijin Beach. The shoreline was littered with plastic waste such as beverage cups, and the team collected about 25 kg of trash.

Participants shared their impressions:
• “Seeing a beach covered with plastic fragments and straws made me realize the seriousness of environmental issues.”
• “It was a great opportunity for children to experience the impact of waste and develop an awareness of environmental protection.”

This activity also served as an important step in environmental education for the next generation.

On November 3, in support of SDG Goal 14: Life Below Water, 12 employees carried out a cleanup activity at Shalun Beach. They collected items such as styrofoam, glass bottles, and fishing nets, filling 12 bags with approximately 158 kg of waste.

Despite challenging weather conditions, the team worked together with determination, strengthening not only environmental awareness but also team cohesion.

General Manager Mr. Cheng commented:
“IDEC TAIWAN will continue to actively engage in marine environmental conservation, ensuring that each employee contributes to the realization of a sustainable society through their actions.”

The IDEC Group will continue to enhance corporate value through various initiatives, including environmental protection, and contribute to creating a sustainable future.
