NEW 18mm sensors from IDEC solve even your most demanding mounting problems

Sunnyvale, CA, November, 2007 – IDEC Corporation has a new sensor line! DATASENSOR, headquartered in Bologna, Italy, is the largest manufacturer of 18mm tubular sensors in the world. This includes the most popular photoelectric sensor in the market, the S51 series. Now in conjunction with IDEC, these cost-effective 18mm sensors are available in the U.S., under the IDEC-DATASENSOR brand. With through-beam, retro-reflective, polarized retro-reflective and diffuse modes, S51 sensors are ideal for applications in all industries including packaging, bottling and material handling.
Unlike other 18mm sensors, S51 sensors have a flat cylindrical housing that offers numerous mounting choices. Mount by either using traditional 18mm locking nuts or by direct-mounting with two through-holes. This unique mounting-hole configuration also makes it possible to directly replace many non-threaded sensors. Plus a wide range of mounting accessories, like the trademarked EASYin™ fast-insertion mounting support with adjustable sensor axis and position, make installation a snap.
The S51 series is a perfect solution for even the harshest industrial environments. Rugged housing increases resistance against disturbances coming from electrical lines or other electronic devices. And, these sensors boast IP67 mechanical protection, which means they have increased resistance to the penetration of fine dusts or liquids.
All S51 sensors feature a sensitivity adjustment potentiometer that can be easily adjusted for accurate, precise and reliable detection. These units also feature a variety of output configurations, such as Light-ON or Dark-ON modes. Connection options include 2m cable and M12 quick-disconnect types.
The S51 series of affordable sensors offer superior performance and multiple mounting options. This versatility is what makes them the perfect alternative to other M18 sensors, including Sick V18 and MH15, Schneider XUD, Omron E3F2, Banner S18 and P&F CP18 series.
