Sunnyvale— IDEC Corporation, worldwide manufacturer of control automation devices, power supplies and sensors, is proud to announce the latest innovation in photoelectric sensor switches.

The SA1E series has 32 available models, all IP67 rated for water-resistance, in through-beam, polarized retroreflective, diffuse-reflective, and small-beam reflective styles. Each style has several options, from cables or connector types, NPN or PNP output, and light ON or dark ON.

These extremely small (31.5mm tall, 19.5 mm wide, 10.8 mm deep) sensors are also very affordable, with a price range of $35 to $50 (US). They are ideal sensors for the OEM market, machine builders and small, size-restricted applications.

The through beam sensor has a sensing range of 10 meters. Depending on the protocol, the polarized retroreflective type has a sensing range between 1 and 2.5 meters. The diffuse reflective sensor has a range of 700 millimeters, and the small-beam reflective type has a range of 50 to 150 millimeters.

Accessories include brackets for horizontal or vertical mounting, slits for through-beam type sensors, reflectors for polarized retroreflective types, and cables for the connector type models. Except for the through-beam type, the sensors can be mounted close together with advanced interference protection.
