Does IDEC have application software that makes programming easy?

Yes. With the application software "WindLGC Ver. 4 (FL9Y-LP 1 CDW)," not only programming is easier, you can also monitor and simulate your program.Â

Are the English versions of the application software WindLGC available?

WindLGC software does not come with a hard copy instruction manual. Instead, it's available as On-Line Help. Also available is the FL1C Hardware User's Manual (Part Number: FL9Y-B826). A PDF version of the IDEC SmartRelay hardware manual is also available for download at www.idec.com/usa

What may be the possible causes for not properly downloading the program?

See 1 thru 3 below.
The communication port is not correctly set. The initial set up is COM2. Please select the appropriate port
Programming is incomplete. Please open the Message Window and find out the problem.
The SmartRelay itself is not set up for the PC-SmartRelay communication mode.

How do we program IDEC's SmartRelay (FL1C)?

There are different ways to program the IDEC SmartRelay (FL1C) using either WindLGC Ver. 4 software or built-in LCD/keypad. Using the application software WindLGC

FBD (function block) programming
Ladder programming
Direct programming with the SmartRelay base module:

FBD (function block) programming
(Note) A display panel is required for circuit programming.

How do I upload/download program to the FL1B IDEC SmartRelay using application software WindLGC?

Please follow the 3 simple steps below.

Shut down the power supply of the IDEC SmartRelay.
Connect programming cable (FL1A-PC1) to PC and IDEC SmartRelay interface port.
Switch On the IDEC SmartRelay, and it automatically goes into "PC<- />SmartRelay" mode.

FL1B IDEC SmartRelay is now ready for communication with WindLGC.

I have a PC without a serial port and want to use WindLGC software with the IDEC SmartRelay, which USB/Serial converter should I use?

Please use IDEC USB/Serial converter part number FC4A-USB. This converter supports all IDEC configuration software: WindLGC, WindLDR, WindMSG, WindO/I-NV.
