New IDEC Web Server Module
Provides All the Features You Want in One Unit

Sunnyvale– The ability to communicate over an Ethernet network is not an option for most industrial systems, it’s a must. With that in mind, IDEC Corporation will be offering a new communication module to its MicroSmart family, a Web Server Module. No longer will users be forced to walk across a factory floor to check on a system’s status. IDEC Web Server Modules offer remote “access from anywhere” that makes it possible to check status from either the office or the floor in real-time.
The IDEC Web Server Module is unique because it bundles multiple features into one easy-to configure module, and can be used with several IDEC PLCs including the FC4AMicroSmart, OpenNet Controllers and the Micro3C.
The main features of the IDEC Web Server Module include:
•Remote Maintenance, which allows you to use IDEC software (WindLDR orWindSRV) to remotely monitor, download and upload any ladder program.
•Web Monitoring that lets you use Internet Explorer™ or Netscape Navigator™ tomonitor or update your PLC with a custom, built-in, monitor dialog box.
•Alarm Messaging, which enables you to send up to 32 customized messages fromthe Web Server Module to an email address or cell phone. You can be notifiedimmediately of any error or processing condition that arises.
•Data Exchange that enables communication between several IDEC MicroSmartPLCs over an Ethernet network.
•O/I Connectivity, which means IDEC touchscreens and IDEC MicroSmart PLCscan communicate even when located in completely separate areas.
•Password Protection that secures your system by allowing you to passwordprotect any unauthorized access.
To configure the Web Server Module, IDEC has upgraded to WindLDR 4.7. Standard features of this software include intuitive and easy-to-use ladder programming; support for all IDEC PLCs; availability in five different languages (English, Japanese, Spanish, German, Chinese); one-step configuring and communication; and FREE upgrades.
